How it works
We score your CPU and GPU, apply a resolution weight (1080p ≈ 1.0, 1440p ≈ 0.7, 4K ≈ 0.4 for FPS), and take the limiting side of the pairing as the average FPS estimate. Min and max show a typical spread around that average.

FAQ
How does the FPS calculator estimate frames per second?
It uses the same performance scoring model as our bottleneck calculator: CPU and GPU scores are combined with a resolution multiplier to estimate average FPS, then a range of roughly 70–130% of that average.
Why is FPS lower at 1440p or 4K?
Higher resolutions push far more pixels through the GPU. Our model applies lower FPS multipliers at 1440p and 4K to reflect that GPU-bound shift.
Does the selected game change the estimate?
Game selection helps you document the scenario you care about. The core FPS estimate is still driven by CPU, GPU, and resolution scores — the same transparent approach described on our methodology page.
Is this as accurate as a real benchmark?
No estimate replaces in-game benchmarks. Treat results as planning guidance for part pairing and resolution targets, then verify with tools like MSI Afterburner.
How is this different from the homepage bottleneck calculator?
This page focuses on FPS output. The homepage tool adds bottleneck percentage, upgrade tabs, power, and more. Both share the same underlying component scores.
